Sorry, no grand predictions or pithy book reviews this time -- just some public service and down-to-earth advice. Because the U.S. Congress decided, in the Energy Policy Act of 2005, to extend Daylight Savings Time in the U.S. starting in 2007, we will begin Daylight Savings Time at 2 a.m. on the second Sunday of March instead of the first Sunday of April.
Accordingly, many computer systems that automatically accomodated the old DST setting need to be updated to reflect this change. Microsoft has a guide to changes/fixes that may need to applied based on this, and has sent notes to partners to disseminate the word. Not that we're looking at anything the magnitude of Y2K (such as it was), but forewarned is forearmed...
