I am a partner in a consulting firm with an interest in Knowledge Workers, how they work, what tools they use, and what makes them tick.
I work for Knowledge Management Associates (KMA), a firm that delivers solutions for Knowledge Workers. We focus on Business Intelligence, Portals and Collaboration, and Smart Client solutions on the Microsoft platform. Our service area is primarily the Metro Boston region, and we focus principally (but not exclusively) on Professional Services and Financial Services firms.
I am responsible for the business development function at KMA, which entails driving the growth of our business via finding new customers, ensuring that the needs of existing customers are met, and working with our business partners such as infrastructure partners, other complementary consulting firms, and Microsoft.
My background includes work at Coopers & Lybrand as an Associate and Senior Associate (I am a "recovering" CPA), in various finance/accounting roles at Bentley Systems, a leading software company, and in various consulting, sales, and management roles at ePartners, a leading provider of Microsoft Business Solutions. My focus has principally been on entrepreneurial firms, where I most enjoy the pace and the immediacy of the work.
My undergraduate degree is a B.S. in Accounting & Finance from LaSalle University in Philadelphia, PA. I achieved CPA certification in 1994 and PMP (Project Management Professional) certification in 2004, and remain an active PMP.
In my spare time, I play and coach over-30 baseball and also enjoy the occasional co-ed softball game with my wife.
I created this blog as a place to capture thoughts and to aggregate information related to Knowledge Workers for customers, prospects, and business partners. I entitled it "Victus Pro Scientia Opus" (literally "Food for the Knowledge Worker") as a paean to my 16 years of Catholic school. I hope that you find it informative and occasionally entertaining, and I welcome your feedback!
